PED Type Accumulator Bladder

PED-type accumulator bladders refer to the internal rubber bladders (sacs) of hydraulic accumulators that comply with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). These bladder-type accumulators are commonly used to store and release energy in hydraulic systems, and are particularly suitable for the EU and EEA markets.

Core Definition

A PED-type accumulator bladder is a hydraulic component that complies with the safety standards of the EU PED 2014/68/EU directive. Its main structure consists of a steel outer shell and an internal bladder (sac) made of nitrile rubber (NBR) or other elastomer material. The bladder is filled with pre-pressurized nitrogen and externally with hydraulic oil. It stores energy through the elastic deformation of the bladder.

Key Characteristics

1. High Safety and Compliance: PED-type accumulator bladders must undergo rigorous qualification assessments to ensure safety and reliability in high-pressure operating environments. Products typically bear the CE mark.

2. Structural Forms: Mainly divided into two structural forms: Type A (small-bore) and Type AB (large-bore). Type A is suitable for smaller hydraulic oil pipe diameters, while Type AB is suitable for larger hydraulic oil pipe diameters.

3. Working Medium and Applicable Temperature: Suitable for media such as hydraulic oil, emulsions, and industrial water. The operating temperature range is typically between -20℃ and +93℃.

Application Scenarios

PED-type accumulator bladders are widely used in hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, energy storage systems, and vehicle suspension systems. They effectively buffer pressure pulsations in hydraulic systems, prevent hydraulic shocks, maintain system pressure balance, and compensate for capacity leaks.

Selection Recommendations

When purchasing a PED-type accumulator bladder, the following parameters should generally be considered:

1. Nominal Volume: From 0.4L to 250L.

2. Nominal Pressure: Commonly available in 10MPa, 20MPa, and 31.5MPa (330bar).

3. Connection Method: Includes threaded connections (NPT, SAE) and flange connections (G, F).
