A Piston Accumulator is a mechanical device that uses the compressibility of a gas (usually nitrogen) to store hydraulic energy. It is widely used in hydraulic systems as an energy regulator. It isolates the hydraulic fluid from the gas through a piston to achieve efficient energy storage and release.

Core Definition and Structure
A piston accumulator belongs to the category of hydraulically isolated accumulators. It mainly consists of the following components:
1. Main Structure: Includes a cylinder (oil chamber), piston, gas chamber, and end caps. The piston is located inside the cylinder, separating the hydraulic fluid chamber (lower part) from the gas chamber (upper part).
2. Sealing System: High-precision seals are installed on both sides of the piston to prevent gas from seeping into the hydraulic fluid, thus maintaining the cleanliness of the hydraulic fluid.
3. Control Valves: Typically equipped with a pre-charge valve and a check valve for charging compressed gas and controlling the flow of hydraulic fluid.

Working Principle

The working process of a piston accumulator is similar to that of a giant "spring":
1. Energy Storage Stage: When the pressure in the hydraulic system increases (above the pre-charge pressure of the gas), hydraulic fluid enters the accumulator through a check valve, pushing the piston upward and compressing the gas in the upper part. As the gas volume decreases, energy is stored.
2. Energy Release Stage: When the system needs additional hydraulic energy (pressure drops), the compressed gas expands rapidly, pushing the piston downward. The downward movement of the piston forces the hydraulic fluid back into the system, releasing the energy.
